Transport from Barcelona airport to city center

The cheap option: Train to Barcelona

From terminal 2 you can find a direct train to the center of Barcelona – look for the name “RENFE”. If you arrive in terminal 1, you can take the free shuttle bus to terminal 2. • Price: 4,10 €. However, if you buy the 10-journey card (“T-10”), the price is only 1 €.
• Journey: Approx. 30 minutes to Passeig de Gracia.

The frequent option: Bus to Barcelona

The airport busses Aerobús go to the center of Barcelona. The tickets can be bought directly in the bus (cash only), online, or from vending machines. • Journey: Approx. 35 minutes.

The newest option: Metro to Barcelona

Since February 2016 it has been possible to also go by metro to/from Barcelona airport. The line is L9s (orange line), but it does not take you directly to the biggest stations in Barcelona. To get to the city center, you will have to catch a connecting metro. The airport metro does not accept Barcelona travel cards (“Hola BCN!” or “T-10”), but requires a special airport ticket. This can be bought from the vending machine at the station. The metro leaves every 5-10 minutes.

• Price: 4,50 €.

The convenient option: Take a taxi to Barcelona city

Finally, outside both terminals in Barcelona airport, you will find a lot of taxis. This option is more expensive than using public transport, but a taxi is very convenient and takes you directly to your destination.

When going to/from the airport, you have to pay 3,5 € “airport fee” and 1 € for each bag, suitcase, etc. that are put in the trunk.

The easiest option – Book you car online in advance
